Anglo has halved fatalities over 3 years

Mining giant Anglo American has more than halved the number of fatalities at its operations in three years, chief executive Cynthia Carroll said...She told the Mining Indaba in Cape Town that when she took over the post, Anglo's safety record was "simply unacceptable". Following a series of internal safety summits and a safety initiative...the record had improved considerably..."This shows what can be done, and people are now really starting to believe that we can get fatalities down to zero -- which is the only acceptable number," she said.
