Argentina Government Lifts Partial Shutdown Of Petrobras Tank Site

Argentine environmental agents Friday lifted a partial shutdown order at a fuel and oil storage tank site operated in Buenos Aires by the local unit of Brazil's...Petrobras, the company said. The government rescinded the partial shutdown order, which was issued for alleged pollution offenses, "after Petrobras presented a detailed report about its existing (cleanup) plans and about actions to be carried out at the Dock Sud plant," the company said…Argentina's newly formed Environmental Secretariat has sent inspectors to several companies operating along Buenos Aires' dismal Riachuelo, a tributary of the River Plate that reeks of sewage and chemicals.
