Brazil: Survival International launches “Stop Brazil’s Genocide” campaign to prevent destruction of indigenous peoples & to coincide with Rio Olympics

Survival International launched on 19 April, Indigenous Day in Brazil, the “Stop Brazil’s Genocide” campaign to prevent the annihilation of indigenous peoples in the country. The campaign calls the attention to serious human rights threats and violations they have been facing. It coincides with the 2016 Olympics. The main focus is on protecting uncontacted peoples and stopping PEC 215, a proposed constitutional amendment which would seriously undermine indigenous rights.
