Bushmen accuse De Beers of stealing diamonds [Botswana]

Representatives of Botswana's Bushmen who have been resettled away from their ancestral land in the Kalahari desert on Thursday accused the government of Botswana and the De Beers diamond mining giant of stealing their lands to exploit their mineral wealth..."However, there is absolutely no connection between the resettlement policies of the Botswana government and diamond mining and prospecting in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve," [a company spokeswoman said]. "This...has been confirmed by eminent independent observers and journalists, as well as by the Botswana Centre for Human Rights." [also refers to African Diamonds, Debswana (joint venture de Beers & govt. of Botswana)]
