[DOC] Consultancy: Development of UNICEF engagement with business in Middle East and North Africa [Dubai, UAE, deadline: Jun 2014]

UNICEF has historically had minimal engagement with the business sector in the the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. As part of global efforts by the organization to strengthen and expand its work with business – in order to harness the potential of business to increase respect of, and support for, the rights of children – UNICEF is seeking to develop its engagement with the sector in this region. This consultancy - established by UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) - aims to establish relationships and opportunities in the MENA region through which UNICEF can begin to influence business to respect and support the rights of children. The individual consultant will focus on efforts to positively change business behaviour and practices as they affect children (‘CSR engagement’), and on mobilising resources (fundraising for UNICEF and influencing other investments in child rights), through an integrated approach of ‘corporate engagement’. The results of the consultancy will be assessed to determine if and how corporate engagement in the region should be further developed and resourced.
