G4S Alliance steps up campaign on union rights

Unions across Group 4 Securicor are stepping up their activities to ensure that the security giant respects trade union rights and pays fair wages around the world. A meeting in Nyon, Switzerland of the UNI Property Services G4S Alliance re-affirmed its demand for a global agreement with the company to ensure core labour standards for 400,000 workers in 104 countries. Delegates also called for a swift and thorough investigation into UNI global union’s official complaint against G4S for breaching the guidelines for the behaviour of multinationals laid down by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development...Violations cited cover Nepal, Mozambique, Israel, the USA, Malawi, Uganda, Congo, Germany, Panama and Uruguay...Speakers from Ireland and Sweden reported on good relations with the security multinational, with high union membership and good agreements.
