…On the 22 of July, members of the community -including women, children and the elderly- pacifically went through the land property of the “ejido” [common land] rented to Peña Colorada (PeCo). They passed through the town of Astilla in order to make sure the company complied with the judicial order of free access and to request the delayed rent payments...The Nahuas never kidnapped anyone, neither obstructed free mobility…ArcelorMittal declares that PeCo requested the authorities intervention to protect their employees…However, the workers of PeCo lied to the authorities of Colima, providing false information to favor their intervention, originating a strong repression against the indigenous Nahuas people…
