Inditex says found no evidence of child labour at Portuguese subcontractors

Industria de Diseno Textil [Inditex] said it has not found evidence of child labour at its Portuguese subcontractors following press reports...that one of its suppliers in northern Portugal employed children between the ages of 10-14 to sew shoes for its Zara [part of Inditex] chain...Inditex said that despite not finding evidence of child labour, it understands the need to reinforce control in the area of Felgueiras...The company noted that the father of one of the children...admitted that the child occasionally helped him with his shoe sewing work at home...
