Speaking on 15 March at an international Conference organised by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Dialogue on Globalisation, IOE Senior Adviser on Business and Human Rights Matthias Thorns addressed the issue of access to remedy...“Business calls on those governments who have not already done so to start working on National Action Plans (NAPs) as promoted by the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights. NAPs have great potential for accelerating improvements to the necessary legal frameworks for business and human rights activity. What little progress there is to date is largely restricted to the US and Europe – many countries in Africa and Asia are still lagging behind,” he concluded.
