Jordan: “Tamkeen” directs 86 reports to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit during the year 2015

Tamkeen Fields for Aid; sent 86 reports during 2015 to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit at the Public Security Department, to report the existing of suspected cases of “human trafficking” occurred on migrant workers.

According to the reports, the complaints of workers (male and female) consisted of deprivation of liberty, withholding of passports, non-payment of wages,  deprivation of food, preventing workers from communicating with their families, being subjected to physical and verbal abuse, and denial of health care...

The total number of victims is 146 male and female workers, distributed according to nationality as follows: 29 of Kenyan nationality, 45 of Indian nationality, 16 of Philippine nationality, 13 of Indonesian nationality, 15 of Egyptian nationality, 11 of Bangladeshi nationality, 3 of Ethiopian nationality, 4 of Myanmar nationality, and 1 from Morocco.
