Deforestation is occurring at a rapid pace as a result of the industry's activities: a 2007 report by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) found that most of Indonesia's forests face destruction by 2022 as a direct consequence of palm oil production...Several food groups, including Unilever and Nestlé, have recognised these risks and pledged to switch to sourcing all palm oil from certified sustainable sources by 2015.
