New regional center launched to “advance responsible business” in Latin America

“IHRB launches new regional centre for Latin America – Centro Regional de Empresas y Emprendimientos Responsables (CREER)” - March 04, 2015

The Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB) is pleased to announce its newest regional initiative to promote effective policies and practices on business and human rights through the launch of a centre dedicated to advancing responsible business in Latin America. The Centro Regional de Empresas y Emprendimientos Responsables (CREER) based in Bogotá, Colombia, will provide an impartial, independent platform for the creation of knowledge, capacity and dialogue concerning human rights and responsible business in Latin America, based on local needs and international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights…The new centre will engage with governments, business, trade unions and wider civil society in Latin America in order to shape policy, advance practice and strengthen accountability. It will work in the region to strengthen government efforts in protecting human rights and promoting responsible business practices, including through the development of national action plans on business and human rights…
