Newmont waste claims dropped - Indonesian: Complaints against mine 'premature'

Jane Pangemanan, an Indonesian doctor, admitted that her complaints against Newmont were "premature" and not backed by scientific proof...In December, villagers of Buyat Bay dropped their $543 million lawsuit against Newmont on grounds that there wasn't any proof that diseases and deaths among villagers were caused by waste from Newmont's Minahasa Raya mine.
