Nigeria: Coca-Cola Fights HIV/AIDS on Campuses

The second phase of the Coca-Cola University HIV/Aids Outreach will take place on four campuses in the months of October and November 2007. The project, funded jointly by Coca- Cola Nigeria and The Coca -Cola Africa Foundation, is targeted at university students who are among the most vulnerable group of people… The Communications Manager of Coca-Cola Mr. Clem Ugorji said the Coca- Cola University HIV/Aids Outreach adopts a multi-prong approach to effectively deliver the key messages: know your status, avoid risky sexual behaviours, and avoid stigmatizing or discrimination of people living with the disease… The outreach will involve engaging with campus groups, students unions, university authorities and some local NGOs.
