[PDF] Vulnerable Migrant Workers: The Responsibility of Business

ECCR is concerned about the extent to which migrant workers are vulnerable to exploitation, denied workplace rights and insecure in employment…Companies and investors have a responsibility to reduce the incidence of vulnerable work throughout the supply chain…The report analyses how…[Associated British Foods, Greencore Group, Kerry Group, Morrisons, Northern Foods, Premier Foods, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Unilever] address the vulnerabilities potentially faced by migrant workers…At the start of the project we wrote to all nine companies to inform them of the research and give them opportunity to provide relevant material. Five companies responded at this stage: Greencore Group, Northern Foods, Premier Foods, Sainsbury’s and Unilever. Subsequently, we sent the companies a near-final draft of the report with an invitation to comment and a commitment to correct factual inaccuracies and to publish any response they wished to make. We received responses at this stage from Greencore Group, Kerry Group, Northern Foods, Premier Foods and Sainsbury’s. None asked for its comments to be published. Ranking [1. Northern Foods, 2.
