Rossport five freed [Ireland]

The five men Mayo men, known as the Rossport Five, who had been imprisoned for protesting against the building of a gas pipeline through their small community, were released from jail after 94 days...The men had protested against plans by energy giant Shell to construct the Corrib gas pipe-line that would run close to their homes...Residents...claim that...[the pipeline] will pose a threat to the safety of residents -- a claim fiercely denied by the energy company.
