Sobo launches work place HIV/Aids programme [Malawi]

Southern Bottlers Limited (Sobo) and Carlsberg Malawi Brewery Limited...launch[ed] their work place HIV and Aids programme which, among other things, seeks to fight stigma and discrimination. Sobo and Carlsberg CEO Chadwick Mphande said...the group took a stand that there was going to be no discrimination against any employee who had or was deemed to have HIV or Aids in terms of employment or in terms of the treatment the company would provide...Mphande also said that owing to the programme the stigma of HIV and Aids over the years has slowly died down among the company’s employees. The scheme benefits both employees and their dependants. [also refers to Coca Cola Africa Foundation]
