South Africa: Business Coalition Against HIV Makes Strides

The South African Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS (SABCOHA)...called for closer relationships with government and civil society to deal with the pandemic...at its annual general meeting...Many [members of SABCOHA] are committed to supporting the good health of their staff including the provision of antiviral and other treatment...However, improved patient education to support treatment compliance was not progressing as fast as it should...[Coalition CEO Brad] Mears said the coalition had adopted some of the most advanced programmes in the world, working with agricultural and micro business sectors..."We must look outside South Africa to other countries that are facing similar HIV and AIDS challenges...and share this knowledge as widely as possible," Mr Mears stressed.
