Starbucks pays $80,000 to settle discrimination lawsuit [USA]

Starbucks agreed to pay $80,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC alleged that Starbucks violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) when it refused to hire a disabled man…at a Russellville, Arkansas store…As part of the settlement, the Russellville Starbucks store also agreed to provide training to its managers…on disability discrimination, submit two reports to the EEOC on the training and any complaints about discrimination…Starbucks official statement...“Starbucks has reached an agreement with the EEOC...We remain committed to diversity and to providing equal employment opportunities to qualified job applicants with disabilities."
