Study gives mixed results to Sunoco refinery [USA]

The issue [of air pollution] hit home in East Toledo and Oregon [cities in Ohio], where the century-old refinery operated on Woodville Road by Sunoco Inc. is the focus of a federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry health study slated to be completed this fall. That same refinery agreed in March to pay a $475,000 fine to settle outstanding pollution violations. It also has become the subject of a class-action lawsuit. Some 57,000 people live within three miles of it. Sunoco has vowed to make improvements. [also refers to BP]
