Improving the business climate is crucial to addressing downside risks to global recovery… As such, the convergence in international standards and principles on what constitutes responsible business conduct…is a welcome development. It has…advanced the common understanding and expectations on how business should avoid and address risks and how governments can support and promote responsible business behaviour.  However, turning ideas into practice is another matter entirely…[T]here is a need to address significant responsibility gaps in supply chains, processes of production and distribution, manufacturing, and throughout the entire value chain…The Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct (the Global Forum) was launched by the OECD in 2013 to strengthen international dialogue…At its second meeting on 26-27 June 2014, over 90 distinguished speakers came together…to provide insights and exchange views…This second Global Forum…has again emphasised the importance of working together to push forward the responsible business conduct agenda globally.
