The three zeros: Anglo's story

…[P]articipants at the Regional Symposium on HIV…agreed to make the recommendations that workplaces should aim for: Zero new infections; Zero people dying from AIDS; Zero mother to child transmission; A number of organisations in southern Africa have in fact already set these targets for themselves and are working towards them. Anglo American is one such company. In its 2006 Report To Society, the company clearly outlines the targets it has set for itself in the fight against HIV…Anglo acknowledges that the targets must be achieved within a framework that allows zero tolerance of discrimination, stigmatisation or any breach of human rights…The company singles out its coal division, Anglo Coal, as having attained outstanding results in the area of testing.
