France: Landmark ruling finds Lafarge and former executives guilty of financing terrorism in Syria
A Paris court has found cement company Lafarge and four former senior executives guilty of financing terrorism after establishing that the company made payments to armed groups during the Syrian civil war to keep its cement plant operating. Lafarge has been fined EUR1.125m, the maximum penalty, while the former executives have received prison sentences ranging from three to six years.
