Indigenous & rights groups protest against Sarawak dam
In February 2013, National Geographic published an article "Megadam Project Galvanizes Native Opposition in Malaysia", highlighting indigenous and rights groups protests against a hydropower dam in Sarawak. The protesters alleged that the dam would lead to displacement of indigenous communities and called on Hydro Tasmania, a dam operator and consultants, to withdraw from the hydropower project. The article also referred to another news report, "Hydro Tasmania to Withdraw From Sarawak Dam-Building Program", which raised similar allegations.
Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Hydro Tasmania to respond to the articles.
