After a brief explanation, the participating members of the two parliamentary groups, civil society organisations from Burma, Uyghur, Japan and other countries, and Human Rights Now together handed over the above joint letter and bill to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Following the submission of the above joint letter and bill, Hiroki Matsui [...] from Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs Division, Foreign Policy Bureau, MOFA, commented that he would like to closely examine the recommendations received and proceed with them in consultation. Ken Toyoda, Director of the Coordination Office for Business and Human Rights Policy, METI, referred to the Guidelines developed by METI and stated that he would like to use them as a reference for future policy recommendations.
