Hongkong Tramways fired employee because of his disability

[Original article in Chinese. Title translation, and following summary of the article's key points, provided by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre.] Mr Wong was diagnosed with clinical depression which was disclosed to his employer, Hongkong Tramways [part of Wharf Holdings], subsequent to an application for sick leave. Wong was dismissed two days later on the ground of "unsatisfactory work performance". Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions (HKCTU) spokesman, Lee Cheuk-yan, criticized the employer for having discriminated against Wong's disability. Wong has filed a complaint against his former employer with the Equal Opportunities Commission.
