In March 2023, it was reported that a tea worker was attacked by a leopard while collecting firewood on the Furkating tea estate. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre asked Unilever, a buyer from the estate according to its publicly disclosed supplier list, and Lipton (ekaterra), which took over most of Unilever's tea business in 2022 for comment.
