Mango's response to Bangladesh minimum wage outreach

...since the adoption of new legal measures to increase the minimum wage in Bangladesh for ready-made workers from 1 December 2023, Mango has closely followed the developments of the situation...especially in respect of complaints and claims made by garment and textile workers and the ability of factories to bear them.

In this sense, Mango has approached its Bangladeshi business partners to demand action on the effective implementation of measures and provide documentary evidence of this change in procedure, demonstrating the efforts that all parties, including Mango, are doing to be aligned with these requirements. Mango has expressed its commitment to continue strengthening implementation of those measures and its willingness to maintain sourcing from Bangladesh after the wage increase is implemented.

Some of Mango's suppliers have been starting to share evidence, where it is demonstrated that they have updated wages policies. However, Mango will continually monitor their compliance and consider whether any procedures are appropriate to provide a detailed accountability on minimum wage increase.
