In March 2023, it was reported that two Primark suppliers based in Yangon, Myanmar, GTIG Huasheng and the GY Sen-operated Primseng Guo, had closed without informing the 2,200 workers employed at the factories in advance. It was also reported that not all workers had received severance.

In response to the article, Primark informed Business & Human Rights Resource Centre that both factories have been suspended due to a breach of Primark's Code of Conduct, and that Primark has been working with both factories to ensure the payment of all wages and compensation to the workers. Primark reports that all workers will be paid in full by 16 March 2023, and its Ethical Trade team are on the ground to monitor progress on this.
