Myanmar: Garment workers denied leave incl. maternity leave; incl. co. response

In April 2024, it was reported that workers at Myanka Garment are facing a series of violations, including denial of legal benefits including maternity leave, wage cuts if workers take leave, verbal abuse if workers fail to meet excessive targets, workers pressured to work all night overtime shifts and treated badly if they refuse, outdated food provided during night shifts, unclean water and no medical clinic or medication provided available.

In September 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Tendam (for its Springfield brand) to respond. It did not.
