Myanmar: Garment workers dismissed for failing to return to work despite security concerns & travel difficulties amid the military takeover; incl. co. responses

In March 2021, over 100 workers from Twinkle Light garment factory were reportedly fired because they were unable to come to work due to security concerns and travel difficulties, and workers who returned to work late were re-employed as new workers. An agreement has since been negotiated between the union and the factory.

In June 2022, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre Carrefour, Lidl, Mango, Matalan and Primark to respond. Carrefour, Lidl and Primark responded. Mango and Matalan did not. The full responses are included below.
