The United States requested the Mexican government, through the Rapid Response Labor Mechanism under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (USMCA), to investigate the workplace of BADER de México in León, Guanajuato, where leather for car seats is designed and manufactured. This request came after receiving an intervention request from the Industrial Union of Workers and Employees of Footwear and Commerce of the State of Guanajuato, citing allegations of violations of the freedom of association and collective bargaining, as well as intimidation, harassment, surveillance, and dismissals. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre requested a response from BADER de Mexico S. en C. por A. de C.V. regarding the accusations, but the company did not respond.
