Siemens response

With apologies again for the delay. Please could we refer you to the formal statement on our website, as our response to this request:

https://press.siemens.com/global/en/news/statement-war-ukraine-and-situation-russia

12 May 2023

  • After the outbreak of the Russian war against Ukraine, Siemens was one of the first companies to put all new business in, and international deliveries to, Russia and Belarus on hold. In May 2022, Siemens AG also decided to withdraw from the Russian market and initiated procedures to wind down its industrial operations and all industrial business activities.
  • Prior to February 24, 2022, and the sanctions against Russia entering into force, Siemens supplied industrial goods, including CNC controllers, to Russia directly and indirectly via partners. We did so in strict compliance with all existing and applicable EU and U.S. regulations. When sanctions entered into force, we stopped these deliveries to Russia, including deliveries of spare parts. To counteract the risk of third-party attempts to evade sanctions, we have also initiated measures to prevent – as far as we can – other companies from delivering Siemens products to Russia. Among other things, we immediately cease to do business directly or indirectly with any companies involved if we become aware of an attempt to evade sanctions, and we report cases to the relevant authorities in Germany.
  • After carefully conducting internal checks on the information reported in the media (PBS, 14 March 2023), we have found no indication of any direct or indirect deliveries of Siemens CNC controllers after the current sanctions against Russia entered into force.
