Western-made components found in weapons used in Russia’s suspected Ukraine war crimes, new investigation reveals
A new report by the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) and International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) found various Western-made components in Russian weapons (9K720 Iskander; Kh-101; 3M-14 Kalibr (SS-N-30A; Tornado S 9K515 MLRS) used in the war in Ukraine.
The analysis is based on case studies of suspected war crimes, followed by the weapon used in each case study, before finally identifying the components found in such weapons and the branding on them. The case study includes 9 attacks which happened between March 2022 and February 2023.
We reached out to 23 companies mentioned in the report. Texas Instrument, Analog Devices, Traco Power, HALO Electronics, Microchip Technology, NXP, Marvell Technology, STMicroelectronics and Intel responded. Integrated Device Technology, Advanced Micro Devices, Cypress Semiconductor, Spansion Inc., Xilinx, M-Tron, Mini-Circuits, Harting, Zilog, Anderson Electronics, Vicor, Motorola, Nexperia and VBsemi did not respond.
