2) Regarding the environmental protection and the land acquisition and resettlement of Krivelj Village of Serbia Zijin Copper

We have responded this concern to BHRRC at the previous inquiry last month. For details, please refer to https://www.business-humanrights.org/en/latest-news/zijin-minings-response/

What we need to add is, over the past 5 years, Serbia Zijin Copper has invested over $100 million in environmental protection measures near the Krivelj village, including the construction of dust removal systems and wastewater treatment systems at the mines, greening and rehabilitation of nearby tailings ponds and dump sites, directly improving the environment of the Krivelj village.

With the involvement of the Serbian government and local authorities, Serbia Zijin Copper has jointly developed a relocation plan with the villagers of Krivelj according to Serbian law and in reference to relevant International Finance Corporation performance standards and best practices. This ensures that the rights and interests of the villagers are protected throughout the land acquisition and relocation process.
