Myanmar: Garment workers file lawsuit over factory transfer without workers' consent; incl. co. responses

In May 2024, it was reported that workers at Saung Oo Shwe Nay garment factory filed a lawsuit against the owners of the factory for violating the employment contract, regarding the transfer of workers from one factory to another to shut down the previous factory, without the consent of the workers, who were initially told they would not be transferred.

In September 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited H&M and New Yorker (for its brand SMOG) to respond. The response can be found below.
