Ashdod Refinery nonresponse to fuel supply for violent conflict following ICJ ruling

According to a report from SOMO, "more than half of Ashdod Refinery Limited's sales, including jet fuel, are to Paz Oil," whose subsidiary, Paz Aviation Services, is under contract with the Israeli Ministry of Defence to refuel military aircraft at seven Air Force bases. Given this, itis alleged Ashdod Refinery Limited is supplying jet fuel that may be used in Israeli warplanes, "facilitates or exacerbates war crimes committed by the Israeli army, and the Israeli Air Force in particular."Despite growing international pressure and scrutiny over military aid to Israel, the continued supply of jet fuel by Ashdod Refinery Limited, highlights the company’s purported complicity in supporting military actions that contribute to severe human rights abuses.

We requested Ashdod Refinery Limited to respond to the above as well as the following questions:

  1. Can you confirm if your company supplies military jet fuel to Israel?
  2. How does your company reconcile its supply of military jet fuel to Israel with the International Court of Justice ruling and its obligations under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights?

Ashdod Refinery Limited did not respond.
