LIDL's response re. Young Clothing

At LIDL, we have implemented processes on how to deal with incoming compliance violations. In this context, we always contact our suppliers and all stakeholders involved. By this, we assure to collect reliable information, to draw a complete picture of the situation and to translate the workers’ demands into appropriate measures. In this way, we promote dialogue between all stakeholders in the supply chain, establish important contacts on site and thus be able to process incidents positively and quickly for the benefit of those affected.

To deal with the case at Young Clothing, we initiated an investigation. According to our information, all employees have been informed that they will receive the salaries and severance payments from the local labor inspection department. The salaries and severance payments had already been paid to 95% of the workers by December 18, 2020. We expect the rest of the compensations to be paid in the next coming days.
