PUBB's official notice to Michelin re BMZ

...In the detailed summary we sent a month ago, we reported among others that in January 2021, 11 workers-activists attempted to form an independent trade union. Three of them (Vadim Laptik, Dmirty Efremov and Nikolai Kizeev) were fired so that required quorum of ten could not be met.

End of last week, another of these activists, Andrei Martysiuk was fired as well, so that now out of 11 above workers only six are still employed at BMZ. This shows that these activists are being specifically targeted and discriminated. As mentioned in our initial summary, Vadim Laptik, a chairman of the independent trade union (to be), is available for any question about the situation...

In this situation, we are kindly asking Michelin to review its position and to investigate this matter further, beyond the reassurances provided by the BMZ management...

Kindly consider this request as being an official notice (“mise en demeure”) as per “la Loi n° 2017-399 du 27 mars 2017 relative au devoir de vigilance”. Please note that we have approached Ecovadis and have launched a complaint with the UN Global Compact so that BMZ could not shield behind the Ecovadis CRS assessment or its “commitment” to the UN Global Compact principles. An approach to the global car manufactures will be our next step...
