Response from Sibanye-Stillwater to Oxfam's open letter

... "The EITI Secretariat is engaged in inclusive consensus-seeking discussions around potential changes to its Supporting Companies Expectations. Those discussions will proceed according to established EITI governance practices, including scheduled Secretariat-led consultations with EITI constituencies during which Oxfam US, as an EITI Civil Society Constituency member, will have opportunities to provide its perspectives. The ongoing process led by the EITI is the appropriate avenue through which the issues raised in your letter can be addressed most effectively.

To maintain the integrity of the EITI-led deliberations, we consider that it would be counter productive and inappropriate to provide company views on the issues you have raised in public forum. As an EITI Supporting Company, we are committed to honour Company Expectations as established by the EITI, and support the quest for global transparency in the extractives sector as the basis for building and maintaining trust among all stakeholders."
