According to Evgeny Udaltsov, Associate Professor of the NSTU Labour Safety Department, analysis of the soil near the tin plant shows that it exceeds the MPC of heavy metals: zinc, nickel, copper, chromium and lead. These chemical elements belong to the first group of carcinogens and are dangerous. The further away from the plant, the less the content of harmful impurities in the soil, but still their level exceeds the norm even in the park area.

"The most dangerous is the contamination of the soil of summer cottages in Kirov district with mobile forms of heavy metals. There is a risk of chemical elements entering the human body via food chains through plants. The soil in the industrial zone must be cleaned," TASS quoted Udaltsov as saying.
