Saudi Arabia: 24 Bangladeshi domestic workers allegedly deprived of nutrition & healthcare after being held captive following illegal recruitment; S. Anowar did not respond

Riyadh streets

24 Bangladeshi domestic workers were reported to have been held captive in Saudi Arabia after being recruited illegally by S. Anowar Overseas, a Bangladeshi recruitment agency, and taken in by Maqtab Taowasul Alsari', a Saudi recruitment agency, instead of being sent to their respective workplaces.

The workers were also not provided with adequate food, water or healthcare on becoming sick.

The Resource Centre reached out to S. Anowar Overseas; they did not respond. The Resource Centre could not find contact information for Maqtab Taowasul Alsari' and was unable to invite them to respond.
