South Korea: Report asserts that Samsung and LG Electronics should take responsibility for acute methanol poisoning of workers in third-tier suppliers – companies respond

 

This report draws attention to cases of acute methanol poisoning reported in third-tier suppliers producing cell phone parts for Samsung and LG Electronics. It examines workplace health and safety issues, compliance with Korean laws, and social protections available to workers. It concludes with the authors demanding Samsung and LG Electronics to acknowledge their responsibility, and to engage in dialogue with victims and supporting organizations.
