Sri Lanka to raise minimum age of employment to end child labour after death of minor sparks outrage
Sri Lanka is set to toughen its child labour laws by raising the minimum age for employment to 18 to end exploitation of children after the death of a 16-year-old girl who was employed as a domestic help by a politician. The Labour Ministry will also expand list of hazardous jobs for children ages 16-18.
