Virgin Australia's response

14 November 2024

We can provide the below information on a background basis only.

On background:

  • The administrator for Virgin Australia disclaimed all ATR 72 leases when the airline went into voluntary administration in 2020 and exited the fleet type.
  • The administrator returned the aircraft to the lessor in 2020 and Virgin Australia has had no knowledge or involvement with the subsequent placement of those aircraft by the lessors.
