A Guide for Business: How to Develop a Human Rights Policy

It is a company’s public expression of its commitment to meet its responsibility to respect internationally recognized human rights standards. At a minimum, this means the rights set out in the International Bill of Human Rights and the principles concerning fundamental rights set out in the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work...A human rights policy can take many forms and has no definitive template. However, some essential elements are set out in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the global authoritative standard on human rights for all businesses wherever they operate, endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council in 2011.
