...[T]he present paper carries out along Section 2 a brief general presentation of business and human rights, in its most relevant terms nowadays, accompanied by another one on various initiatives under way on the particular subject. Among them we stand out the so called Guiding Principles together with the Treaty on Corporations and Human Rights, within the framework of the United Nations, and others by several institutions. On its part, Section 3 surveys, following the different appearances of the Popes before the United Nations and others of Pope Francis before international entities and for the sake of particular events, what it is considered the doctrine of the Holy See with a bearing on the object of the present pages. This doctrine is assumed by Archbishop S.M. Tomasi in a very well built on Declaration before the Human Rights Council, that is analysed in Section 4, and takes the favourable stance of the Holy See facing the aforementioned Treaty. The present work concludes in Section 5 with final reviews in which the above mentioned position is welcome, that it keeps abreast of the times and encourages in a most outstanding way the international protection of human rights.
