At least 76 percent of children aged 10-14 years are working in agriculture sector across the country while 14.6 percent in services sector and 9.3 percent in industries while a mere 1.6 percent of working children are attending school...Sources reveal the labour inspectors in every province lack authority, resources and training for tackling the serious issues. Worst forms of child labour across the country are found in brick kilns, carpet weaving, glass bangles, agriculture, fisheries, coal mines, farming, domestic service, begging, smuggling, construction, leather goods, automobile workshops and carpentry...in 1997 Nike had threatened withdrawal of outsource football programme from Sialkot market citing violations of treaties prohibiting child labour.
