Oakland Institute has released a report challenging Ethiopia government's strategy to reduce hunger by leasing land to large-scale investors. The report says that plantations established under the scheme cause are less productive than traditional livestock keeping, cause environmental degradation and deplete water resources to the locals' detriment.
