Italy: Enel suspends imports of coal from Colombia following investigations into human rights violations

Italian multinational Enel announced that it has suspended imports of coal from the Cesar mining region in Colombia in light of investigations made into human rights violations that have taken place in its Colombian coal supply chain, as well as its de-carbonization strategies. International organisations working in the region hope this will encourage mining companies to take steps to provide remedy for victims of violence.
